Sawadeetukon! (Hello all!)
After a few days of traveling we finally arrived in Thailand last Tuesday. The first couple days were spent in Chiang Mai doing ministry preparation. Then on Thursday we drove to Chiang Rai to stay at the Jasper Kids Home. It was wonderful to learn more about their ministry and how they provide a home and opportunities for Thai children from remote mountain villages so they can receive an education while also experiencing discipleship in the gospel. Through Jasper Kids Home, the students have the opportunity to finish their education and even go to college. Many of these students also come to know Christ.
We built relationships with the kids through worship, language lessons, and playing games and activities. It was such a blessing spending time with the kids there and getting to hear some of their stories about what God has done in their lives.
We were encouraged because despite language barriers, we were still able to love them and build close relationships with them. We came with the mission to serve our Thai brothers and sisters, but we left overwhelmed with their love for us. What a joy it was to be able to witness different nations and tongues come together and be united under one Father. And what a greater joy it was to be able to show God's love to each other. We will dearly miss them and our time spent together.
We also had the opportunity to visit a church in a nearby village called Huai Rai, and visited the pastor's house as well. We prayed over the village, the pastor, his family, and the church. We were blessed to see people so passionate about God even in such a remote area where Christianity is not prevalent.
After staying at Jasper Kids Home for one more night, we will be heading back over to Chiang Mai to do ministry preparation for the second half of our trip at Bokaeo Village.
We ask that you pray for strength and endurance as we faithfully continue to serve the Lord.
